A few of my thoughts/tips on being a medic
1. Only take the medic position when you intend on being a medic. (Nothing sucks more then being red and bleeding only to find out your medics are dead from suicide nading 20 seconds into the round)
2. Your primary objective as medic is to help injured teammates. (Kills and other objectives are secondary)
3. Don't rambo. (It is an important role in the squad, you need to stay alive to help others)
4. When you hear someone call for medic take note of their position, NOW GO!! GO!! GO!! (Unless you are on defense guarding an objective late in the round)
5. When you cannot leave your position to give medical aid let your teammates know this (I have a keybind that acknowledges their call and requests they come to my location)
6. Don't bunch up. (Stay away from large groups, a single nade has been know to take out a medic and 3-4 people waiting to be healed)
7. Get to patients losing blood first. (Some will argue this point but blood loos can turn a green player to a dead player. If your red and have stopped bleeding your still alive)
8. Treat anyone on your team. (Don't hold a grudge, if someone accidently tked you the round before and this round he needs your help, help him. If thier behavior is that bad just vk them. But ALWAYS treat anyone that requests aid)
9. Accept the fact there are times when you are going to be killed while preforming your duties. (Death with honor, besides "You wanna live forever?")
10. If you get it without asking for it and don't want it, uncheck medic, ask another to do it. If you still get stuck with it TUFF. (It's not the most glamourous of jobs but SOMEBODY has to do it. Still try to do your best because others lives are depending on you)
11. Extra goal points. (I'd do it with or without the points. But hey giving me goal points for it is just a bonous)
12. Don't bind use keys to mouse buttons. (Don't want to accidently shoot someone instead of healing them)
13. Check everyone you pass for injuries. (Some people don't even realize their hurt, must be the steroids and adrenaline)
14. Make keybindings to help you with the job. (Getting shot while typing sucks)
15. Share the position if someone requests it. (Don't be a medic whore, give others the opportunity to try it out)
A few of my thoughts/tips on being a patient
1. When you call for a medic STOP. (Running around playing hide and seek with the medic is not gonna get you healed and get the medic killed)
2. If you move, make your intentions know to the medic (If it's late in the round goto him)
3. Find a good out of the way spot to get healed, preferably with lots of cover. (Bad places include; middle of courtyard, stairs, doorways, groups of other teammates)
4. Cover the medics 6. (While healing you the medic is totally helpless)
5. Check to see if any medics are still alive before calling them. (Calling for a medic does you no good if there are none alive)
6. Call ONCE then wait for acknowledgement (If you dont get a response in 10 seconds or so THEN call again. Not everyone can type as fast as you)
7. After you call for a medic watch for him and don't be trigger happy, he SHOULD be reporting letting you know he's coming. (Don't know how much ROE accumulates from patients accidently shooting the medic thinking hes an opfor sneaking up on him)
8. When being healed crouch. (It allows the medic to see around you)
9. Dont stare at the medic while being healed (I'm not your type, quit eyeing me. Watch for opfor and be prepared to react and defend the medic)
10. Cover teammates being healed and wait your turn. (Don't bunch up, stay close enough to engage nearby enemies. Don't be within nade distance of the medic UNTIL he is ready to heal you)
11. Thank the medic (He risked his a$$ saving your life it's the least you can do)
Sorry for the longwindedness, please feel free to add any tips of your own. Hope this helps someone out.
